IN OUR COMMUNITY
As a church, we want to have a visible presence in our community. We believe that God calls us to contribute to the overall good of our community by living out the implications of His grace in our lives. This grace makes us outward in our focus so we desire to serve our neighbors in practical ways. Below are just some of the ways we seek to be part of our community. Check our online calendar for specific event details.
Community Seminars
We regularly provide seminars open to our community. In the past, we've hosted both parenting and marriage seminars offered by speakers with a wealth of knowledge and experience in these areas.
Urban Ministry
Located only a few miles from downtown Wilmington, we as a church are committed to serving those in need. We do this by partnering with local urban ministries such as Urban Promise, the Sunday Breakfast Mission, and Youth for Christ. Besides financially supporting these ministries, members of our church are also active in serving these ministries in various capacities. Some teach or tutor, while others help serve meals or collect items of need. Members of our worship team serve at the Sunday Breakfast Mission each month by leading the men who stay at the rescue mission in a time of worship.
Easter Egg Hunt
We host an Easter egg hunt annually on the Saturday morning before Easter. Our desire is to provide a fun event for young families while proclaiming the good news of our risen Savior as the real meaning behind Easter. Along with the egg hunt, there are other fun activities for children as well as a brunch for everyone who attends.
Summer Bible Camp (VBS)
Each year, we host an exciting Summer Bible Camp (VBS) program for all the kids in the community. We consistently see 150-200 children register for our program. For a week, we meet each morning for games, crafts, bible lessons, songs, and loads of fun. Due to the size of this program, we utilize online registration to sign kids up - we'll start registration in May.
Fall Fest
Each year on Halloween we invite folks from our community to join us for our annual fall festival. This is an evening full of fun games, tons of candy, and plenty of free food. In addition, there is an enormous bounce house, and face painting and magic by a local clown. The good news about Jesus is also shared creatively in a way that engages children.
Pioneer Clubs
On Wednesday evenings children age 4 through 6th grade meet at the church for an exciting evening of Bible lessons, Bible memory, art & craft projects, games, and a snack. For more information about the mid-week program see the children's Pioneer Clubs page.
